Thanatat Sriaranyakul’s upcoming violin recital is a special performance celebrating his achievement as the winner of the 2024 Sala Free Stage, a showcase for young talent.
This solo violin concert brings together popular Gypsy melodies in a dynamic and expressive performance. The violin, while known as a classical instrument, has long been a favorite among European Gypsy musicians, and Gypsy music has played a significant role in shaping classical repertoire. Characterized by its freedom, energy, and emotional depth, this music is both captivating and accessible. The program features virtuosic showpieces that highlight the full potential of the performer, ranging from Gypsy-inspired classical works like Gypsy Airs and Carmen Fantasy to modern Gypsy jazz, including original arrangements and improvisations. Through this concert, I hope to share the spirit and fantasy of Gypsy music with the audience. PROGRAMME:
