ABOUT:
Pianist Tony Yike Yang is recognized as one of Canada’s top young musicians. He gained international fame at 16 as the youngest laureate of the International Chopin Piano Competition, where he won 5th prize in 2015, and has since earned accolades at competitions like Van Cliburn and Gina Bachauer.
Yang has performed globally at prestigious venues including Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, Koerner Hall, and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. He has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Cleveland Orchestra and Warsaw Philharmonic and has chamber music partnerships with celebrated artists.
His debut album of Chopin works was released in 2016. Committed to classical music education, Yang has served as a Youth Cultural Ambassador in Guangzhou and as a music consultant for the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, giving masterclasses at major conservatories.
